New Zealand Raises Minimum Wage Threshold for Foreign Workers

Starting February 28th, 2024, New Zealand will implement minimum wage criterion for specific visa categories within the international workforce. The new hourly minimum wage of NZD 31.61 will be mandated for visa types such as the Skilled Migrant Category, Green List Straight to Residence and Work to Residence Visas, and the Parent Category residence class visa. This wage adjustment aims to incentivize skilled individuals from abroad to pursue employment opportunities in New Zealand.
