Romania & Bulgaria Joining Schengen Zone on March 31st

Starting March 31st, 2024, residents of Romania and Bulgaria can journey to Schengen countries without a passport as both nations join the Schengen zone. Passport checks are eliminated for air and sea travel, while land transport will still require passport verification. From April 1st onward, the two new Schengen members will permit entry using a Schengen visa for a maximum of 90 days.
