Singapore to Increase Minimum Salary Requirement for Overseas Employees

Starting January 1st, 2005, the minimum salary requirement for foreign Employment Pass (EP) applicants will be raised to at least S$ 5600 ($4170). The salary adjustments will be applied progressively based on age. This measure is implemented to uphold the quality of the workforce, foster innovation, and ensure equitable minimum salaries for Singaporeans, who are facing competition for employment opportunities from the foreign workforce.
